Janice Capelle

1931 - 2023

Janice Capelle, 91, of Willard, Ohio died peacefully April 30, 2023, surrounded by her family at Norwalk Memorial Home.
Born July 10, 1931, in Norwalk, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Olieva (Heyman) Scheid. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Donald E. Capelle.
Janice worked in various Willard area businesses where she was known for her ready smiles, laughs and friendly manner.  After the death of her husband, she volunteered at the Willard Senior Center and Trinity Lutheran Church's church office. She loved to play cards, go bowling, and go dancing. A lifelong Lutheran, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. Until shortly before her death, she lived most of her life on the farm she and her husband owned.
Janice is survived by her children, Deborah (David) Greene of Kaplan, Louisiana; Marcia (David) Adelman of Monroeville, Ohio; Donna (Tony) Cook of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Doug (Janet) Capelle of North Fairfield, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Patti Capelle of Willard, Ohio; and 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Herbert Scheid and her son, Alan H. Capelle.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 pm. Her Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
