Janice Ann Close (Fogle), age 83, went home to be with the Lord on June 7 ,2025. She was Mom and G-Ma to her family and grandchildren, and Gram Gram to her great grandchildren. She passed away in Virginia where she lived the last few years, but will be buried in Indiana where she lived most of her life. A member of Living Word Baptist Church, but previously a member of Harmony Baptist church in Avon, Indiana where she taught children in Sunday school and the Awana program. She was part of the choir and volunteered regularly. As a young mother she was active in her church by serving in VBS, church visitation, choir, women's ministries, Bible studies and especially teaching children. Preceded in death by her husband Garry Lee Close, parents, John Fogle, Imogene “Gene” Wright, and foster mother Viola Louise Miller, sister Judy Trulock, and brothers James Fogle and Jerry Fogle. Left with a lifetime of happy memories are her children: Daniel (Shelly) Close, Rebekah (Tim) Robb and Darrel (Lisa) Close; nine grandchildren: Gavin and Sydney Close; Douglas Robb, Rachel (Sebastian) Vasquez and Elisabeth (Brady) Thoresen; Joshua (Kayla), Benjamin (Rebekah), Joel and Nathan Close; and four great grandchildren: Esther and Isabel Vasquez; Henry and Abigail Close. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home beginning at 1:00 p.m., where friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Janice Ann Close to The Children's Home of Cincinnati (4550 Red Bank Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45227) where Janice lived for a few years as a young child, or to any children's ministry.
