Janice Mae Gerbo, 79, of McLoud passed from this life at her home in McLoud to a reunion in Heaven with her husband Mathew and a host of friends and loved ones on July 14, 2022. She was born August 10, 1942, to Edward and Ethel B. Meacham Hickey in Bluff Springs, KY and grew up in Hopkinsville KY, graduating from Christian County High School in 1961.
She married Mathew Paul Gerbo on June 10, 1961, in Ypsilanti, MI. She worked as a Certified Medical Assistant and retired from Christian Health Center. She enjoyed attending church, working in VBS, talking to friends, playing Bingo and dancing. She also loved small dogs but mostly she loved being around her family, especially her grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mathew; her parents; a brother, Edward (Pete) Hickey Jr.; five sisters, Madeline McMasters, Noreen Caldarelli, Margie Aberle, Mary Damron and Helen Poole.
Survivors include daughters Gena Gerbo-Simpson of Bowling Green, KY, Anna and husband Steve Morris of McLoud, Alicia Reyes of Hopkinsville, KY, a son Tony Gerbo and wife Tammy of Cadiz, Ky; two brothers, Bill Hickey of Hopkinsville, KY and Tom and wife Linda Hickey of Hopkinsville; four grandchildren, Krista (K. D.) Logsdon Shearon of Bowling Green, KY, Andrew (A. J.) Simpson of Guthrie, KY; Mathew Morris of Oklahoma City and Courtney Morris and fiancée Lane Reynolds of McLoud; and one great-grandson Kalen C. Shearon of Bowling Green, KY.
Services will be held at a later day in Kentucky.
