Janice Verena Haymon, 67, Aberdeen resident and former insurance agent, died Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle.
Janice was born on September 19, 1957, in Leesville, Louisiana to Raymond W. and Rene (Krupkat) Bassett. Her father was in the United States Army, and they followed him wherever he was stationed. She spent most of her youth in Germany. Her father eventually was stationed at Ft. Lewis where he retired. She graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School in 1975 and then went to Clover Park Vo-Tech in Lakewood, WA where she earned her insurance degree.
On March 20, 1976, Janice married Michael James Haymon. He resides at the family home in Aberdeen.
Janice worked for State Farm Insurance and for Farmers Insurance. She also worked for Jones and Jones Insurance Company in Aberdeen, retiring in 2008.
Janice was an excellent cook and loved to cook for her family. She also loved her family and her dogs.
Janice is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael Haymon, Sr. of Aberdeen; two sons: Michael (Joani) Haymon Jr, of Alexandria, Virginia and Christopher (Kathryn) Haymon of Salem, OR; a sister Tina Louise Ferrans of Federal Way, WA; three grandchildren: Alexis, Cora and Quinn.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date and details to follow in the Daily World.
Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, WA.
