Janice Marie Robison Lester

Mrs. Janice Robison Lester, lovingly known as Nana Jan to her family, passed away on August 28, 2025, peacefully at home in Leland, MS. Janice was born to Arthur and Irene Casey in Chicago, Illinois on August 10, 1939. Janice was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was an avid sports fan, both televised and local. You could always find her cheering on the Warriors at Deer Creek School, no matter what sport was in season. Janice also had a deep love for gardening. Her yard, affectionately known as "Nana's Garden," reflected her nurturing nature and was a peaceful oasis filled with vibrant flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Leon Ersel Robison, her second husband, William "Bill" Jackson Lester, Jr., and her grandson, William "Boo" Jackson Lester, IV.
She leaves behind family that will forever cherish her memory: her sister, Carol, her children, William "Bill" Lester, III (Lemin), Kevin Robison (Carolyn), Suann Lester Wall (Buddy), Lisa Robison McIntire (Lee), Scott Robison, Angie Lester Vasconcellos (Nuno), her 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The family is grateful to the Delta Health System - The Medical Center Hospice
nursing staff, especially her special friend Sarah Cooperwood, for providing
compassionate hospice care. Her family would also like to express a heartfelt thank you to her extended family members, Elaine McIntire and Dotti Lowe, for their lengthy and diligent assistance and care. Together, they provided Janice's family with enduring support that will be remembered forever.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to St. Jude’s Children's Research
Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at Mortimer Funeral Home on September 2,
2025. The visitation will be at 10:00 am, with the funeral following at 11:00 am. Kirby Slaton will be officiating. Pallbearers include Hunter McIntire, Otto McIntire, Michael Oleis, Kel Robison, Jay Sprouse, and Nuno Vasconcellos, II. The interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
