Janice Powell, born November 10, 1952, passed away on November 11, 2024. Janice was a faithful servant of God and firm believer in our savior Jesus Christ. She was a respected educator for 42 years, 39 being in Channelview. Janice loved spending time with family and friends and filling her home with the sounds of loved ones. She was fiercely devoted to her family and would move mountains for them. One of her favorite passions was discovering God's earth on the back of the Harley with David.
She was deeply loved and will be missed by all. She will be remembered as a person of faith, loyalty, and compassion. She is preceded in death by her parents LV and Loyce Rogers, Brother Jack Rogers, and son-in-law Michael Gill. She is survived by her husband of 21 years David Powell, her children; son Bryan Louque and wife Heather, daughter Dana Sorensen and husband Shawn, Grandchildren; Morgan McCusker and husband Randall with great-grandchildren Charlie and Kayce McCusker, Lainey Gill, Adam Gill Brooklyn Sorensen, Brandon Sorensen, Caleb Louque and great-granddaughters Ally and Sophia, Trent Louque, Michael Louque, stepdaughters Jeri Powell and Sarah Krieger, her brother Keith and wife Brooks, along with her many nieces and nephews.
Service will be Nov 16th, 2024 @ 3pm at Crosby Church in Crosby Texas. In honor of Janice, anyone who wants to wear Astros apparel or the color purple is welcome to.
