Janice M. Roark

Janice M. Roark, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 87. Born on May 5, 1938, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Janice lived a life devoted to faith, family, and service.

Janice earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Hardin-Simmons University, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to learning, nurturing others, and serving her community. Her professional journey included years of faithful service as a church secretary, after which she retired to assist her beloved husband with his financial service business, working alongside him with dedication and quiet strength.

A talented pianist, Janice shared her musical gift by playing for the churches she attended, ministering through her music and her heart. Her interests included reading, sewing, and cross-stitching-quiet joys that reflected her gentle and creative spirit. Above all, Janice cherished spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent together.

Janice was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, Robin L. Roark; her parents, Burton Kenson Robinson and Mabel Helene Robinson; her brother, Arthur Robinson; and her sister, Esther Davis. She is survived by her loving family: her sister Colleen Hefner and her husband Bryan; her son Sean Roark and his wife Alicia; her grandchildren Vivian Bragg, Zoe Hefner, and Bennett Roark; her great-grandchildren Beatrice and John Bragg; her brother Dr. David Robinson and his wife Jeanette; and her sister Judith Allen.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28, at Liberty Live Church York River Campus, 8201 Croaker Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the service at 12:00 pm, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Liberty Live Church to help further the gospel of Jesus. Janice's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
