Janice Turpin Sims, age 71, of Gillsville, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Born on November 25, 1952 in Commerce, GA, Janice was the loving daughter of the late Ralph Turpin and is survived by her mother, Zelma Turpin. She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Turpin.
Janice spent years as a dedicated nurse, but truth be told, she never really clocked out -- because she cared for everyone, everywhere. Whether it was with a warm nurturing embrace or a hearty laugh that filled the room she always made sure people felt loved. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Nathan John Sims, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Together again, no doubt they're still flirting like young lovers, and smiling down on all the lives they've touched.
In addition to her mother, Janice leaves behind her cherished daughter, Amber (Nate Noack) Sims, the undeniable jewel of her and Nathan's eyes. whose boundless love for Amber was always filled with pride; her sister, Margie (Charles) Boyd; and brother, John (Teresa) Turpin.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Emmanuel Community/Pine Grove Church with Rev. Kip Wright, Rev. Rusty Turpin, and Rev. Earl Pirkle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
