Janice Mae Gredig Sims, age 85 of Maryville, TN went to her final home to join her loved ones in Heaven on Friday, June 13, 2025. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and visiting with friends. She was a former employee of Blount County Schools. She was the longest living member of Allegheny Baptist Church where she dedicated her time for the community and fellowshipped with her church family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mack Sims; grandson, Brently Mancini; brothers, Billy, Rex, Walden & Leonard Gredig. Survivors include her children, Sam “Butch” Sims (Tammy), Lynn Covert (Tim), Sonya McMichael (Donnie), Belinda Clayton; grandchildren, Clinton Sims, Amanda Nelsen, Amy Henderson, Christy Mayo, Caleb, Travis, and Ryan McMichael, Steven Mancini, Joshua, Daniel, and Johnathen “Johno” Clayton + families; sisters Pat Harmon and Juanita Walt. She was blessed with 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that were very dear to her heart; special friends, Lou West, Van Laughing, and Sue Gourley. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Smith’s Trinity Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM officiated by Rev. Dean Mullins. The family will meet at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 to proceed to Allegheny Cemetery for an interment service at 11:00 AM.
