Janice Ann Spinney

Spinney, Janice Ann of Flushing, age 87, died Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Swank Assisted Living. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Rossell Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial of cremated remains will follow the service at Flushing Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hurley Foundation.
Janice was born in Flint, Michigan on November 12, 1937, the daughter of Holden and Zita (Tyrrell) Ackerman. She worked for over 35 years at Genesee Bank, the current Chase Bank. She volunteered for many years with the Hurley Women's Auxiliary working in the Hurley Gift Shop. Janice was a member of Gleaners, an organization to provide access to food and resources to families. She enjoyed traveling to spend time with her son's family. Janice was independent and proud of her home. She also enjoyed cooking, baking and flower gardening.
Janice is survived by her sons, Jeff Spinney, Jerry and wife Roxanne Spinney; grandchildren, Joshua (Kerrie) Spinney, Tasha (Nick) Edwards, Jessica Spinney, Benjamin (Samantha) Spinney; great-grandchildren, Christian, Kael, Killian, Kira, Aimee, Mason; and sister, Bonnie Korn. She was preceded in death by her son, Joel Spinney.
