Heaven gained an angel, Janice L. Suckow of Unity, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the June 2025 timeframe. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
Janice was born on August 30, 1944, the only child of Anton and Helen (Umlauft) Riegert. She grew up on the Riegert family farm in Stetsonville, surrounded by aunts, uncle, and cousins. She attended the one room, elementary school house, Pleasant Valley, and then graduated from Medford High School in 1962. Janice was united in marriage to James Suckow on June 15, 1968 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville. They lived in Spencer a short time and then built their forever home in Unity where they raised three children: Jeff, Julie and Jill. Janice worked at Spencer State Bank for forty years. She enjoyed baking, sewing, bowling, family gatherings, playing cards and watching birds. She was an exceptionally sweet person, loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Janice is survived by her husband, James; three children: Jeffery Suckow of Kyle, TX, Julie (Cory) Bunkelman of Wausau, and Jill Robida of Colby; six grandchildren: Haley and Emma Bunkelman, Makenna and Jackson Suckow, Allie and Tony Robida. She is further survived by three brothers-in-law: Jerry (Pat) Suckow, Bud (Marilyn) Suckow, and Elly (Mary) Suckow as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law Jeannie Suckow.
