Janice Faye Tate, 77, of Jonesboro, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born on September 13, 1948 in Jonesboro to Wilford Tate and Ocie Smith Tate.
A lifetime resident of Jonesboro, Janice was a faithful member of Community Fellowship Church and a proud Jonesboro High School graduate. She was a teacher assistant for Jonesboro Public Schools as well as a school bus monitor. She later retired from St. Bernards as an operator. Janice stayed busy with various hobbies, but was especially fond of reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family and her church family.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Ocie Tate; the father of her children, Gene Barber; and her brother, Eddie Tate.
She is survived by her beloved children, Tammy Jean Barber of Paragould, LeAnn Granara of Jonesboro, LaWanda Trujillo of Jonesboro, and Dalton Gene Barber, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Paragould; grandchildren, Steven Daniels, Jr., Tiffany Daniels, Courtney Sanders, Dalton Barber, Carolina Granara, Felix Trujillo, and Ally Barber; great-grandchildren, Landon Daniels, Garrison Willis, Dayka Locke, Xander Locke, Haleigh Daniels, and Lilly Felton; brother, Curtis Tate of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters, Renee Ivy of Brookland and Debbie Maples of Imboden; numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family please asks donations be made to Community Fellowship Church at 1600 Red Wolf Blvd. Jonesboro, AR 72401 or Community Fellowship Church.
A memorial service will be held at Community Fellowship Church on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
