WAPAKONETA -- Janice E. Wright, 73, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born on February 26, 1952, in Lima, to C. "Wayne" and Eleanor (Stotts) Guider who preceded her in death. On November 10, 1972, she married William "Bill" E. Wright, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2009.
Janice graduated in 1970 from Allen East High School. Over the years, Janice dedicated her life to serving others, notably as a foster parent for eight years to 38 children. She held various roles, including head cook at St. Joseph School, was a home health aide for the Auglaize County Health Department along with being the Deputy Registrar and most recently secretary at St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was a very active member of the church, serving on council and contributed to multiple programs such as LOGOS/FEAST, the summer lunch program, faith formation, and the Bucket Garden Committee. She also served as the treasurer for Boy Scouts Troop 9.
In her leisure time, Janice enjoyed camping, indulging in arts and crafts, baking, and reading. Above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family, particularly her beloved grandson, Christopher.
She is survived by her son Dwayne (Melanie) Wright and grandson Christopher Wright of Wapakoneta; her brother Richard (Vickie) Guider; and numerous friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Anne Flavin.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Paul Bomeli officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Buckland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Summer Lunch Program.
