Janie Smith, passed peacefully with her loving husband and daughters by her side on October 17, 2025.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Lanius Vivrette Sr, and mother, Ann Katherine Gentry; mother-in-law, Mildred Smith.
Survived by Husband of 30 years, Steve Smith; daughters, Crissie (James) Jackson, Jessica Toombs (Justin Dorland); grandchildren, Allie Jackson, Skyler Dorland, Sadie Dorland, Sawyer Dorland; brother, Jay (Stacy) Vivrette; niece, Emily (Weston) Polk; nephew, Parker Vivrette; brother-in-law, Randy (Rosie) Smith; Best friend, Jena Troupe; and her fur babies, Itsy and Angel. Along with many other family and friends.
Janie worked in the Hospitality industry her entire life from food, beverage, cooking, serving and setting up events including, weddings, corporate lunches. She was member of Women in Business, worked at The Nashville Convention Center, and Music City Center. Her work family became part of her family.
She loved watching tv from Law and Order, Survivor, and any reality tv show. She loved her flower gardens that Steve created for her especially her roses and her bubble gums.
Janie was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 4:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 10:00am-12:00pm, with funeral service at 12:00pm at Sellars at Mt. Juliet, Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
