Janine Wilcock Bauer Jolley returned to her heavenly home on November 1, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1938 in
Cedar City, Utah, as the first child of Washington LaVand and Virginia Wilcock Bauer.
Janine was raised in Cedar City, graduating from Cedar High School and College of Southern Utah as Valedictorians. Janine met Evan W. Jolley while they were both attending CSU. They were married in the St. George LDS Temple on February 18, 1961. Janine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Janine's faith in Jesus Christ motivated her dedicated service as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully as Ward Young Women's President, Ward Relief Society Counselor, Stake Primary Board Music Director, organist for many organizations, and temple worker. She was passionate about family history and was an avid genealogist.
After completing her first degree in 1960, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Janine later returned to school to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education at Southern Utah State College in 1980 and Master of Secondary Education from Utah State University in 1987.
Janine taught at elementary and secondary schools in Cedar City and Bountiful, Utah and was a business education instructor at SUSC/SUU. She was instrumental in the establishment and success of Jolley's RanchWear by completing all accounting functions for many years. Janine also taught piano lessons to numerous students for 15 years.
Janine enjoyed volunteering and her associations in a variety of organizations. She served as PTA president at two different schools, on the Iron County PTA Council, as a member of Lady Lions, as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and as President of SUU Lady Faculty and Staff Organization. She was delighted to sing as part of In Jubilo Women's Chorale.
Janine anxiously anticipated joyful reunions with her husband, parents, and sister (Ruth Marie), and Jolley in-laws who preceded her in death. She is survived by her six children, Jan (Todd) Thorley, Lynette (Danny) Harris, Kris (Pete) Thorley, Steve (Holly) Jolley, Jolynn (Trevor) Pollock, and Lori (Shawn) Whetten, 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and brother Danny (Nancy) Bauer.
