New Iberia, Louisiana - A Home-going Celebration will be held for Miss Janique La'Shoy Washington, 44, at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Fletcher Funeral Home.

Pastor Louis Lollis will officiate.

Janique will be laid to rest in Perpetual Park Cemetery Mausoleum (1400 Sterling Road) in Franklin, Louisiana.

The visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2025, beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

A beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Janique La'Shoy Washington was born August 23, 1981, in Franklin, Louisiana to Denise Provost and James Lee Washington, Jr.

Janique was baptized at an early age. She later rededicated her life as a member of True Bible Way Deliverance Church under the leadership of Pastor Louis Lollis.

In her earlier life, Janique was a licensed cosmetologist. She was employed at Teche Action Clinic, where she was the Referral Department Supervisor, Janique was an ultimate fashionista. She had unmatched taste and flare particularly in every way in terms of hair, make-up, clothing, jewelry, and even home décor. She was also a great foster parent.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Harry Provost, Sr. and Gloria Bowles Provost, paternal grandparents: James Lee Washington, Sr. and Irene Metz Washington and two uncles: Robert W. Provost and Wilfred Washington, and her late companion, Dominick Richard.

Janique leaves to cherish her memories: her loving son, Jadyn J. Washington (Raven) of Lafayette, Louisiana; her mother, Denise Provost (Joseph Wells, who came into her life as a father figure); father, James Lee Washington, Jr. (Pam) of New Iberia, Louisiana; sister, Britney James (Linton) of Youngsville, Louisiana; brother, Desmond Washington of New Iberia, Louisiana; nephew, Desmond Washington of New Iberia, Louisiana; godchild, Terrance Ballet, III of Baldwin, Louisiana; uncles, Harry Provost, Jr. (Shanda) of Houston, Texas and Calvin Washington of Baldwin, Louisiana; aunts, Dianna Bell (Anthony) and Angela Miller of Franklin, Louisiana, Harriet William (Ricky) of Patterson, Louisiana; Tracy Green (Andre) of Flint, Michigan; Karen Barnes (Gregory) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Edwina Armelin (Ricky) of Baldwin, Louisiana, and Barbara Washington of Pearland, Texas; great aunt, Jean Mingo of Franklin, Louisiana; two special cousins, Dr. Keidra Welch Spencer (Dr. Marcus Spencer) of Youngsville, Louisiana and Angel White (Robert) of Atlanta, Georgia, along with a host of other relatives, and friends.

Serving as Active Pallbearers are Gregory Barnes, Jr., Brandon L. Webb, Brian K. Mingo, Jordan L. Williams, Dr. Marcus Spencer, and Travis C. Williams.

Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Jadyn J. Washington, Desmond Washington, Calvin Washington, Harry Trey Provost, III, Joseph Wells, Harry Provost, James M. Robinson, Ricky L. Williams, Sr., and Ricky L. Williams, Jr.
