A graveside service will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Llano Pantheon Mausoleum. Rev. Chris Condit of Hillside Christian Church will officiate.
Janis was born on May 14, 1951, in Amarillo, Texas, to her parents, Melvin Sr. and Ruth Vibbard Roberson. She graduated from Tascosa High School.
On July 19, 1969, she married the love of her life, Kyle Denton. Janis was a devoted wife and mother who took great joy in caring for her family. She was happiest when her loved ones were gathered together, especially during the holidays.
Together, she and Kyle shared a passion for woodworking and created many beautiful pieces. Janis also loved all kinds of crafting and was known for her fondness for Campbell’s Soup memorabilia and her beloved Beagle pups. She enjoyed classic rock music—especially The Beatles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kyle; and their only son, Christopher Shane Denton.
She is survived by her devoted nephews and nieces, Troy Roberson, Pennie Erwin and her husband David, Chase Roberson and his wife Kristina and Robert Roberson and his wife Rebekah; and many loving great nieces and nephews.
