Larry Dale Brown
November 19, 1949- October 26, 2025
Larry Dale Brown took his last ride on Sunday, October 26, 2025, to meet his Lord and Savior in Amarillo, Texas.
Larry’s memorial service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Hall, Monday, November 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in Groom, Texas.
Fred H. & Juanita Williams Brown welcomed Larry, a blue eyed, cotton-top baby boy, on November 19, 1949, as their first-born child.
Larry lived life on his own terms. His life was full of laughter, passion, and no regrets. He had a laugh that turned into an uncontrollable giggle and a smile that would light up our worlds. Larry told you like it was. He loved his family & friends and would do anything for anyone from all walks of life. A true cowboy & truck driver all his life, Larry was known far and wide. He was always full of surprises, pranks & firecrackers.
Larry married Karen Ollinger on January 12, 1973 in Groom, Texas. Together they had one daughter, Skye Nicole. She was an unexpected surprise and Larry spoiled her rotten. He welcomed Wade Ritter into the family and later Skye & Wade blessed him with four grandchildren, Braxton, Braelyn, Brecken & Brancen, whom he loved dearly.
Parents, Fred & Juanita Brown, Grandmother, Mamie Jackson Poole, and sisters-in-law, Susan Brown & Dianne Ollinger proceeded him in death.
His memory will be cherished by his wife Karen, daughter Skye and Wade and grandchildren, Braxton, Braelyn, Brecken & Brancen Ritter. His siblings, Lonny Brown, Lynita Brown, Lezlie (Brad) Rainer & Tracy Brown, his extended family on the Ollinger side, Pam Ashford, Mike (Julie) Ollinger, Kelvin (Debbie) Ollinger, Duane Ollinger & MaryLee, along with numerous nieces & nephews (fart-knockers), and many cousins, who all have stories to tell.
Memorial Contributions can be made to Groom Lion’s Club, and Groom Fire & Ambulance Services.
