Janis Lauer

Janis Lauer, 76, of Independence, went to be with the Lord on Friday January 2, 2026 at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She had been a loan officer for the Ohio Valley (formerly Milacru) Federal Credit Union. Janis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, enjoyed art, was very artistic and liked to paint. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids. She was very involved with their lives and loved them dearly. She played the piano and spent time visiting her family members in the nursing homes. She was predeceased by her son Mark Lauer and her parents Clarence and Mary Morgan. She is survived by her husband Jim Lauer, her daughter Melanie (Dwight) Ryan, brother Joe (Tracy) Morgan, daughter-in-law Sharon Lauer, nine grandchildren- Curtis, Cameron, Savannah, Colin, Nathaniel, Joanna, Charis, Samuel, Noelle; 3 great grandchildren- Anavah, Kessid, Reuben and a baby boy on the way. Visitation 10-12pm Wednesday, January 7, 2026 and 12pm Funeral all at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
