Janis Loraine McDaniel

Obituary
Janis Loraine McDaniel, 81, went to be with our Lord on December 2, 2022 with her family by
her side in Clear Lake, Texas.
She was born on July 29, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph and Loraine Barajas. She
graduated from Jefferson High School prior to moving to Houston, Texas. There she worked in a
variety of professional roles and had four children. After raising her children and relocating back
to San Antonio, she attended college and achieved her goal to become a Registered Nurse.
Some of her fondest memories took place during over three years she cared for patients in
Saudi Arabia. She concluded her career in Methodist Health Systems hospitals having provided
care for hundreds of women as a postnatal nurse.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Joanne Kilborn, granddaughter Alyssa, and
grandson Zachary.
She is survived by her children Darryl, Lisa, Brent, and David, by her brother and sister in law
Ronald and Deanne Bridges, grandchildren Taylor, Katie, Jenna, Trentson, and great
granddaughter Avery.
There will be a Funeral Service at Schertz Funeral Home on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 AM, with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Following the Funeral Service there will be a funeral procession to Mission Retama Cemetery for the Graveside Service.
