Janis E. Sander

JANIS ELBERTA SANDER was born December 30, 1930 to Frances and Emil Sander. Corbett was Jan's older brother. The family lived in Dundee as well as earlier family from both Mom and Dad sides. Jan attended Dundee church and school for most grades, finishing high school in Newberg. She began her career in accounting and insurance first in Newberg and then later began working in Portland, living in both Portland and Beaverton. Jan's mom and brother both passed in 1981. Jan returned to Dundee in 1984 to assist her dad during his last years. She later retired and continued to live in the same Dundee house in which she was raised until moving to Newberg Friendsview in 2017. Jan soon began working with Chehalem Park & Recreation / CPRD to develop her Dundee property into park features and walking trails which has recently begun and would often comment, "…for the CITIZENS of Dundee." Jan passed peacefully January 22, 2026 and is buried with the rest of her family at Dundee Pioneer Cemetery which she and her family invested so much time and effort to develop, maintain and manage over many years. Jan will be missed and remembered for her generosity.
