Janis Shaw

Janis "Jan" Shaw, 65, of South Beloit, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 23, 1959 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. Janis was a Beloit Memorial High School graduate. She married Steven Stageman Sr. in July 1977 in Messiah Lutheran Church and together they had two children.
Janis was formerly employed by Swiss Colony, Kerry Ingredients, and LifeTouch. She loved reading on her kindle and crocheting. Jan loved to cook, she and her best friend Amy would cook together and make every recipe better. She was quite well known for a few of her dishes, especially lasagna. Jan loved Mexican food, the scarier the hole in the wall restaurant, the better the food she always said. She spent a lot of time with her daughter, Andrea and her family in Ashton and enjoyed being part of their immediate family. While visiting Andrea, she would attend Ashton Bible Church. She was a proud lifetime Girl Scout.
Survivors include her daughter, Andrea (Chris) Mullins; son, Steven Stageman Jr.; grandchildren, Ben Mullins, Megan Stageman, Dominic Mullins, Ericka Stageman, and Braelyn Stageman; brothers, Dennis (Lisa) Shaw, Curt (Cindy) Shaw, Ronald (Debbie) Shaw, Matt Shaw, and David Shaw; nieces and nephews, Brent, Garrett, Mallory, Nicole, Dwayne, Elizabeth, Keyana, and Chelsea.
Jan was predeceased by her grandson, Maxx Stageman.
A Memorial Service for Jan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024 in Ashton Bible Church, 702 Main St., Ashton, IL, 61006, with Pastor Farrel Stauffer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any donations towards the cremation costs or donations can be made to Ashton Fire Protection District.
