Roger Alan Loomis

Roger Alan Loomis, 79, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in his home in Ocala.

Roger was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, to Carl and Marion Loomis on August 14, 1946.

He attended Beloit Memorial High School and graduated in 1964. He, then, became a Journeyman Machinist after completing his apprenticeship program at Landis Tool Company in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. In 1990, Roger earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Hamilton University. He has worked as a mechanical engineer for Caterpillar Tractor, Cummins Diesel, Sencorp, and Heatcraft, and later began a Budget Blinds franchise before retiring to Florida. He was granted a U.S. patent for developing an air conditioning coil while working at Heatcraft.

Roger enjoyed rooting on his Penn State Nittany Lions, playing games with family and friends, and playing a round of golf. His greatest enjoyment came from studying the Bible, teaching Sunday School, telling others about his Savior Jesus Christ, and, of course, spending time with the grandkids.

Roger is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lemma; son, Brett Loomis, of Bozeman, Montana; daughter, Adrianna and Rob Fletcher, of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Joshua, David, Kara (Tyler), Brooke, and Daniel; sisters, Linda and Judy; and brothers Carl (Jane), and Tom (Melody).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Marion Looms and brothers Ronnie, and Gary.

A Memorial Service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 9510 SW 105" Street, Ocala, Florida, 34481, on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 am with Pastor Robert Fletcher officiating.
