Jannie "Jan" Payne passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, in Canton, GA, at the age of 78. Born on March 14, 1946, in Marietta, GA, Jan devoted her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family, embracing her role as a homemaker with unwavering dedication and grace.
Jan is fondly remembered for her boundless love as a mother and grandmother, roles that she considered her greatest joy and accomplishment. Her nurturing spirit and supportive presence will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The words that best describe Jan are loving, devoted, and compassionate-a true testament to the life she led, always putting her family at the heart of everything she did.
Her legacy of love will continue to flourish in the lives of her family and all who cherished her.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Monavie McClure; and brothers, Charles McClure and Jerry McClure; she is survived by her son, Jeff Payne (Diva); grandchildren, Jacob Payne (Kaylin), and Kaylee Payne; brothers, Richard McClure and Tim McClure; sister, Tammy McClure Hughes; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
