Jared Alexander Obituary

Visit the Russon Brothers Mortuary - Bountiful website to view the full obituary.
This is our handsome Jared! He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on Sept. 21, 2003 with the most shocking head of hair you've ever seen. He grew up in Woods Cross, attending Woods Cross Elementary, Legacy Preparatory Academy, South Davis Junior High, and was a senior at Woods Cross High. Jared had the best ever Marvel movie pal in his dad, Travis Alexander. The Crumbl runs and listening-ear awards go to his mom, Diana Alexander. His sister, Emma Alexander, taught her not-so-little brother the ropes while working together at KFC. One year ago, Travis, Diana, and Emma moved into the backseat of his red Xterra to make room in the front for his beautiful girlfriend, Natalie.
Jared started sports out playing soccer, but he absolutely hated being yelled at from the sidelines. "Jared, get in there!!" "Jared, block that ball!!" Being yelled at was too much for his kind soul. He spent summer after summer swimming with the neighborhood boys in his backyard, circular pool, so it only seemed natural that he would pick up swimming someday. Plus, the water could instantly wash away the buckets of sweat that poured off that kid! He loved being in the water and the feeling of being in "the zone" as he swam lap after lap during practice. He swam for the Tsunamis in his early years, then joined the Woods Cross High swim team in 9th grade. To be honest though Jared wasn't there to excel at swimming. He was there to bond with his team mates and bond he did. Jared had a remarkable talent to bring people together, and he always searched out the one to bring them back to the fold.
In fact, Jared wanted to make a career of finding and helping that one. He was fascinated with his AP Psychology class and looked forward to attending Weber State University to become a licensed social worker. His every waking moment was focused on, "who can I help?" Before heading off to college though, Jared was planning to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He started filling out his papers last week and the first question asked for an availability date. "Oh frick, we're doin' this," Jared laughed then called out his usual, "lez go!" The food, the language, and the climate were concerns when he wondered where he would be called to. He need not worry about that anymore because he has arrived, and he probably shouted out, "Let's do this!" when he got there.
Jared was a party everywhere he went, and one of his favorite places to go was Party Band with his trombone. His awesome trombone music often filled our home, Disney songs to Broadway musicals. He started playing in 5th grade-obviously-his music wasn't awesome back then! Through high school, he and his trombone friends received high marks for beautiful songs they performed following countless hours of practicing together. Knowing Jared, there was probably far more laughing and joking around than practicing! Music was an important part of Jared's life. He found so much meaning in songs and could tell you the composer of just about any movie score.
Jared left this life on October 27th, 2021. We are truly honored to be Jared's family. He blessed the lives of many grandparents in his life: Jay and Diane Alexander (Woods Cross, UT), Mitch and Beverlie Bartholomew (Bountiful, UT), Rowene Reid (Bountiful, UT), and Carmen Woods (Reeds, MO). Our family gatherings were large with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We'll have one more really big one for you, Jared, on Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 am at your LDS Chapel on 2064 South 800 West, Woods Cross, UT., where a viewing will be held the night before, Nov. 5th, at the same location from 6:00-8:00 pm and again Saturday before the service from 9:45-10:45 am. Jared recently gained a love for flower arranging through his floriculture class. If you choose to show your love this way, Russon Mortuary has asked that flowers be delivered no later than noon on Friday.

Hi, I was in floriculture with Jared. He always laughed and joked and I would always see him sadly never talk to him but for some reason I didn´t have the guts to go up to him and that´s crazy because I´m such a social person sometimes. He loved flowers the way i would see him stare at them and just explore everything about flowers from the stem to the beautiful peddles. How much I wish I could have said hi to him, he reminds me so much of my brother but except a nicer version on my brother. I really hope I can become friends with him in another lifetime. I hope Jared´s family is doing well, and I value how you guys view things, i truly respect it. I hope you have an amazing rest of your day.

Jared always has and will always will have a special place in my heart, and I just hope he knows how much I appreciated him. He always called me "Dory" because I forgot things easily and he always made me laugh. I am so proud to say he was one of my best friends throughout Jr high and high school. I love his family so much and I pray for them every night, they were always so kind and welcoming. Love you Jared

What a beautiful obituary! My daughter Kadee was heart broken hearing the news of the loss of her swim teammate and friend. She said he was her first friend on the team, made her feel welcome and was the kindest person she had ever met.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I loved when he would always say "oh frick" or his amazing laugh. he made working at lagoon as best as it could be. he was an amazing friend with the best hugs. i was going through my camera roll and just seeing the happiness on his face made my day no matter what time or what day it was. all the inside jokes we had and how we always hung out at my or alyssa's house almost everyday of summer 2020! he would deal with our group especially when we all worked he would come to say hi and asked if we were ok. i loved it that he was there for me no matter what. i want people to strive to be him even myself. i loved you jared <3
