Jared Thwing, age 79, of Weymouth passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at home with his loving family by his side. Jared was born in Queens, NY then was raised and educated in Riverside, RI. He attended University of Rhode Island then Northeastern prior to starting his 35 year career with Tucker Anthony out of Boston.
Jared married his wife of 54 years, Janet, in 1971. Shortly after, they settled in Weymouth where they have lived since and cultivated countless memories raising their children there. Jared and Janet spent a lot of time at their family vacation house on Assawompset Pond in Lakeville, MA. Many wonderful memories were made over the years with their children, grandkids, friends and neighbors. In retirement they travelled to destinations including, but not limited to Peru, Greece, Bulgaria, Chile, and Australia.
Jared is survived by his wife Janet Thwing (Moloney) of Weymouth, his children Michael Thwing and his wife Karen of Pembroke and Amy Sullivan and her husband Daniel of Australia. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Benjamin, Willem, Emerson, Matilda, and Henry. Additionally, he is survived by sister in-law June Thwing of Delaware and nephew Curtis Thwing of Virginia.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visitation for Jared on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 2-4pm at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A service will be held in the Funeral Home immediately following the visitation at 4pm. Burial will be private at a later date in the Pleasant Street Cemetery in Raynham, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Research.
