In loving Memory of Jarix LaMont Tedford
June 26, 2009 - September 15, 2025
With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Jarix LaMont Tedford, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, who passed on September 15, 2025. His life, though short, was a gift to all who knew him, filled with laughter, love, and light. We find comfort knowing that his spirit rests in God's eternal care, and his love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
Born on the afternoon on June 26, 2009, to Felicia Cottrell and Jacob Tedford, Jarix shared his light with his entire family from the very beginning. He loved being a big brother, caring deeply for his siblings – Jaxon, Felix, Maximus, Sunny and Fynn, always looking out for them with love and devotion.
Jarix had an incredible sense of humor and was very witty, carrying his dad's humor in everything he said. Although he could be quiet at times, he always had something profoundly clever to say, even to the very last moment. He had his mom's faith, a reflection of the love and warmth she gave him, and his heart was selfless, continuously giving to others. His warmth will be deeply missed.
Jarix had a deep passion for music, playing drums and bass guitar, and was an active member in the Benson High School band. Music was his way of expressing himself, a language through which he shared his joy, his emotions, and his spirit with the world. He also loved watching football and could talk endlessly about the game, especially the Rams, of whom he was the biggest fan; a love he shared with his dad and brothers. Jarix learned confidence, hard work, and a deep internal drive from being a wrestler. Jarix loved wrestling and everything that entailed. Wrestling was not easy, but he found success and strength as he never gave up. His passions reflected his curiosity, joy, and energy. He also loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends going fishing, camping, hiking, and enjoying walks together.
He leaves behind his parents, Felecia and Jacob, his stepparents Jared and Victoria, his five siblings, and countless friends and family whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and loving heart.
Though his time with us was far too short, Jarix's love, care, and generosity touched everyone who knew him in ways that words can scarcely capture. His smile could light up the darkest of days, and his heart was always open to others. He had a remarkable way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved and the warmth he shared will remain with us forever. Jarix's spirit, his joy, his passions, and the love he gave so freely will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
