Jarol L. “Jeri” Bourne, age 82, of Marysville, passed away on January 30, 2025, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.
Jeri was born January 5, 1943, in Waterville, to LeRoy T. and Lillie B. (Musil) Schuchart. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1960. She then graduated from Brown Mackie Business School in Salina. She married Bill Bourne in 1963, they later divorced.
Jeri was a member of the Waterville United Methodist Church where she was an organist for many years, playing for countless weddings, funerals, Christmas Cantata’s and church services. She loved to play upbeat, peppy music with her duet partners. During high school she worked at the soda fountain in Peterson’s Pharmacy. After finishing business school she worked as a secretary at Marysville High School and Valley Heights Schools, The Waterville City Office, Citizens State Bank, State Bank of Blue Rapids and the Waterville Public Library. All these positions made her well known and loved in the public.
Jeri loved her Lord. She also loved her grandchildren, frequently writing letters and notes to them, giving them compliments and pointing out their unique qualities. She would be sure to do the same for others too. She rarely complained and said it wouldn’t do any good anyway. She appreciated everything, even the littlest of things, but especially her family and friends. She loved music, a good book and was a good cook, hosting many family gatherings over the years.
Survivors include Jeri’s two children: Craig Bourne of Marysville and Lynsey (Morgan) Wanklyn of Frankfort, a brother John (Dorothy) Schuchart of Waterville, a sister Gailia Stryker of Topeka, three grandchildren: Gage Lucas, Riley Lane and Maycen Jo.
Preceding Jeri in death were her parents LeRoy and Lillie Schuchart.
