Jaroslaw Josef Buszko

To the friends and family of Jaroslaw Jósef Buszko, his daughters Magda and Grace are deeply saddened to announce his passing on December 3, 2025. Born to parents Teresa and Kazimierz Buszko in Warsaw, 1953, Jaroslaw spent much of his childhood growing up in the countryside town of Szklarska Poreba. He loved to play in the woods and take long walks, a habit that lasted his entire life. In early adulthood, he received his certification in nursing and started a few different businesses. He had his first child, Magda, with his first wife and life long friend Jolanta.
In June of 1993, Jaroslaw fulfilled a life long dream of coming to the U.S. and started completely from scratch. Not knowing the language or anyone in town, he arrived in Chicago with an address of a friend of a friend in his pocket and a dream of becoming a successful American. And he did. He taught himself English, he found a long lasting career as a CNA, he had his second daughter, Grace, he traveled across the U.S. not once, not twice, but more than we can count in his retirement. And he made countless friends over his 32 years in the States.
We know our father was beloved by so many people, and we invite you to attend his funeral service on Thursday, December 11th at 10 am at St Ladislaus Catholic Church on 5345 W Roscoe St in Chicago. Furthermore, we will be hosting a gathering at his home later that same day from 3pm until 5pm at 3514 N Oak Park Ave in his apartment to send him off with a cheers and celebration of life.
It's hard to describe how much he will be missed but our dad was the kind of soul who will live long in the hearts of many. Our condolences to all who lost such a wonderful person too.
