Lorraine Stevens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Dec. 10, 2025.
Lorraine Stevens, a beacon of light and love in the lives of those she touched, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 86 in Zion, Illinois, due to natural causes. Born on April 28, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, Lorraine's journey through life was one marked by devotion to her family, a passion for life, and an unwavering faith. As a homemaker and a switchboard operator for several years, Lorraine was the epitome of a caring and diligent professional, balancing her career with the demands of raising a vibrant family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Caroline Cios and George Stevens and the loving mother of Caroline Piermattei (Chuck), the late Frank Arnone, Christine Brown (Michael), and Lisa Lucy. Her love and legacy continue to flourish through her cherished grandchildren, Stefani Piermattei (Scott Kilcoyne), Charlie Piermattei (Hailey), Nicholas Lucy, Nicole Mundelius, Lauren Murray (Alex), Jacki Mundelius, and Grace Mundelius, as well as her treasured great-grandchildren, Caroline and Aceline Kilcoyne.Lorraine was a Christian who lived her faith through her actions, embodying the virtues of kindness and compassion in her everyday life. Her thoughtful nature made her a confidant and friend to many, always ready with a comforting word or a funny anecdote to brighten someone's day. Her passionate spirit was perhaps most evident in her love for animals and her admiration for the legendary Frank Sinatra, whose music filled her home and heart. It was no surprise that she named her only son after her favorite crooner, a testament to the joy his melodies brought to her life. Those who knew Lorraine would describe her as someone who could always find the humor in life's challenges. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence was a source of joy for her family and friends. As Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." Lorraine embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly, never shying away from new experiences or opportunities to grow.Lorraine's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and lasting connections. Her unwavering support and love for her family were the cornerstones of her existence. She was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a wellspring of wisdom. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the countless memories she has given us, the lessons she has taught, and the love she has shared.Lorraine Stevens will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and all who cherished her. May she rest in peace, secure in the knowledge that her life was well-lived and her love well-given.
