Jasmine Cherise Renee Anthony, a remarkable soul whose light touched many, was born on August 16, 1990, in Norfolk, Virginia. She was lovingly raised by her parents, Richard and Lynne Anthony, who instilled in her the values of education and kindness. As a young girl, Jasmine moved to Jacksonville, Florida, where her journey of brilliance and warmth began to unfold.
From her early years, Jasmine displayed a fierce intellect and passion for learning. She excelled academically, participating in the gifted program throughout elementary school and consistently earning 'A' grades. Her talent was on full display when she represented Duval County in the spelling bee, advancing to the final round of the national competition, an honor that highlighted her determination and skill even at such a young age.
Jasmine's academic achievements continued as she moved through middle school, where she achieved a perfect score on the FCAT and earned an unforgettable ride in a stretch limo in celebration. Her exceptional intelligence paved the way for her attendance at Stanton College Preparatory School, one of the country’s top high schools. At Stanton, Jasmine not only thrived as a member of the National Honor Society but also received recognition from Gamma Beta Boule’s High Potential Youth Recognition Awards, honoring her as a high-achieving African American student in Duval County Public Schools.
Upon graduating in 2008, Jasmine continued her education at Florida A&M University (FAMU), majoring in Sociology and Pre-Law. A proud Rattler, she quickly became an integral part of the vibrant campus community, known for her radiant spirit and love for dancing. Jasmine's aspirations to become a lawyer were evident, leading her to be inducted into the FAMU Pre-Law Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International. Her inductee class was aptly named the Immaculate 29: Dominus de Jure, a testament to their dedication and potential.
In 2012, Jasmine graduated Summa Cum Laude from FAMU, a distinction that speaks volumes of her hard work and intellect. She later pursued her dream at FAMU Law School in Orlando as an All-Star Student. However, Jasmine’s most cherished title was that of a devoted mother to her twin boys, Jonathan and Jeremy, whom she welcomed into the world in October 2015. They were her greatest joy and her legacy.
Although Jasmine faced health challenges in her later years, her spirit never wavered. She passed away on September 1, 2025, leaving behind a profound impact on the lives she touched. Jasmine is survived by her beloved children, Jonathan and Jeremy; her devoted parents, Richard Anthony and Lynne Johnson; and her siblings, Emmanuel Robinson, Marquise Anthony, Allexis Anthony, Elijah Johnson, Zakia Keyes, Zariawn Anthony, Zarielle Anthony, Diamond Suggs Benjamin, Ja’Kayela Anthony, and Kierra Anthony. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Raevondlyn Barkley, her close friends turned sisters, Arieal Burns, Taquoia Gulley, Erica Baker, and Dalaiah Simeon, as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, her Stanton peers, and her cherished Rattler FAMUly.
Jasmine was truly one of a kind, whose legacy of love, brilliance, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing to us all.
