Jason Shawn Applegate

Jason Shawn Applegate, age 50, of Purdin, MO; passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025, in Purdin, MO. Jason Shawn, was born on May 27, 1975, to Orville L. and Karen June (Gelski) Applegate in Brookfield, MO. Jason was a graduate of the Brookfield R-3 School, the class of 1993. He worked at Brookfield Fabrication for several years. On May 25, 2002, he married Michelle Parrish in Laclede, MO. Jason really enjoyed going to truck and tractor pulls, and working on the truck's engines. He liked to go camping with his family and what great memories they made together. Jason adored his granddaughter, Piper and loved spending time with his family. His family and friends meant everything to him. Jason is survived by his wife, Michelle Applegate of Purdin, MO; two sons, Levi (Whitney)Vansickle of Marceline, MO; and Logan Vansickle of Purdin, MO; his mother, Karen Applegate of Purdin, MO; two sisters, Jennifer (Ward) Amer of Gladstone, MO; and Jean (Chris) Ham of Brookfield, MO; one granddaughter, Piper Vansickle; three nephews, Tyler Ham, Brendan Ham, and Gage (Cinphany) Ham; and several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Applegate; and one brother, Michael Applegate. A Celebration of Jasons life, will be held from 5:00 pm. until 8:00 pm. Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Purdin Community Center in Purdin, MO. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
