Jason Garcia Cano, 49, of Shinnston passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 10:15pm at his residence following an extended illness.
Born May 24, 1975 in Clarksburg, WV He was the son of Robert G. Cano, Jr. and Chyrell D. Weekly Cano Buckingham who survives in Shinntson.
Jason worked in Killen, TX on the Army Base. He was proud of his work learning construction, having also worked in Florida, Massachuetts and West Virginia. Jason made a lot of friends and met a lot of people in his travels.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Phyllis Tenda Weekly and Jack J. Weekly, his paternal grandparents, Linda Cano and Robert Garcia Cano, Sr.; and his great grandparents, Mary Cottrill Tenda and Samuel Tenda.
Surviving are two children, Miranda Swiger Palmer of Florida and Jax Alexander Cano of Virginia; his uncles, Gary L. Weekly, Edward Weekly, Thomas Cano, Mark Cano and David Cano; and his aunts, Mary Richards, Sherri Cano, and special aunt Edna Tenda Palmer of Virginia.
In keeping with his wishes, Jason will be cremated.
