Jason N. Gesmer, age 96, of Rockford, passed away on Sept. 3, 2025. Born June 5, 1929, in Chicago, the son of David and Henrietta (Nicholas) Gesmer. Graduate of Northwestern University with a Bachelor's Degree in 1951 and a Juris Doctorate Law Degree in 1953. Jason married Louise Okrent on June 15, 1954 in Cincinnati, OH. Jason practiced law for more than 50 years, concentrating his practice in Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability, until his retirement in 2012. He was a dedicated member and past President of Temple Beth-El, as well as an involved member of the Jewish community. He also served as President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Rockford.

Survived by his wife of an amazing 71 years, Louise; children, Amy (Daniel) Gesmer-Packman of Boulder, CO, James (Mary) Gesmer of Rockford, and Daniel Gesmer of Boulder, CO; grandchildren, David Packman (Megan), Hannah Packman (Brendan), Aaron Gesmer (Rachel), Adam Gesmer, and Joseph Gesmer; and sister, Karyl Golden. Predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Thomas Webb and the staff at Swedish American Hospital, as well as to his caregivers Jurga, Marta, and Alma.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday Sept. 7 at Temple Beth-El, 1203 Comanche Dr., Rockford. Burial to follow in Rockford Hebrew Cemetery.
