Jason Curtis Hodge, 55, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on October 19, 2025. He was born on March 22, 1970, in Indianapolis, where he spent most of his life building lasting friendships, raising a family, and creating memories filled with adventure, love, and grit. Jason was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jodie Hodge, and his six children: Andrew & Sabrina Hodge, Cari & Frankie Burton, David Hall, Kayla & Brandan Hodge, Kristan & Cristian Cain, and Kelly & Stephen Forner. He was the proud Papaw of twelve grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy. Jason is also survived by his mother, Mary Hodge Wainscott, and his siblings: Will Wainscott, Jennifer Jones, Shannon Wainscott, Jessica Wainscott, and Joey & Cassie Burgess, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents LeRoy Curtis & Mary Catherine Hodge, and his Aunt Susie and Uncles Tim and Larry, whom he cherished deeply.
Jason started working at just 15 years old, trimming trees to earn a living and build a future. He spent decades in a demanding and physically tough industry, working long days and many weekends to support his family.
Outside of work, Jason found his greatest peace in the outdoors. He loved the mountains of Colorado, where he felt most alive, and he never missed a chance to explore, camp, or chase the next adventure. Jason was a hands-on man who loved building sand rails, collecting things that “might come in handy one day,” telling detailed stories from his past, and hunting for a good sale. He had a stubborn streak—one that often made those around him smile—and a passion for what he believed in. Above all, Jason adored his grandchildren. Time with them was his greatest treasure, and they will carry his love forward for generations.
Family and friends are invited to gather in his honor on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Indiana Funeral Care Greenwood Chapel, with visitation from
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and a service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Jason’s adventurous spirit, fierce loyalty, and deep love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he will be profoundly missed, his legacy lives on—in the laughter of his grandchildren, in the family he raised, and in the countless stories that will continue to be shared around campfires, kitchen tables, and Colorado mountain trails.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the life of Jason, for the love he gave, and for the memories that will remain in our hearts forever. We ask that You bring comfort, peace, and strength to his family in the days ahead. Help us to hold tight to one another, to cherish every story, and to honor his legacy through love, laughter, and togetherness. May Jason rest in Your eternal care, surrounded by Your light and grace.
Amen.
