Jason Bradley Leber

June 29, 1960 – November 14, 2025

Born in Prescott, AZ

Jason (Jay) Leber, 65, passed away peacefully at home, November 14, 2025, in Colusa, CA

Jason was the husband of Myra (Wayman) Leber and proud father of Kolby Michael Leber and Kent Wayman Leber.

He was the beloved son of Nancy Leber-Madison and Don Leber.

He leaves behind wife Myra, married for 45 years, and sons Kolby Michael Leber and Kent Wayman Leber. Mother, Nancy Leber-Madison, siblings Ann Randleas, Julie Leber, Jeff Leber, brothers-in-law Tom and Don Wayman, sister-in-law Kay Armstrong, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and his favored Aunt Kitty Smith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don (Karen) Leber, paternal grandparents Rude and Miriam Leber, maternal grandparents, Gordon and Fay Koch, his uncle Cam Smith and in-laws Jim and Barbara Wayman.

Jay was born in Prescott, AZ in 1960, moved to Mt. Vernon, WA in 1962 and to Seattle, WA in 1963. In 1964 his family moved to Fortuna, CA where he attended Kindergarten. In 1966 he started first grade and graduated from Colusa High School in 1978. In 1980 Jay attended Shasta College in Redding, CA where he met his wife, Myra.

Jay had a love for life that was infectious, whether he was fishing or Polaris trekking at the sand dunes on the Pacific Coast, or exploring with friends at Laughlin, NV and Oatman AZ. He always looked forward to the friends and family's annual Christmas tree cutting adventures. Some of his favorite memories were with family at the Wayman cabin on Willow Creek, in Adin, CA.

He was a man of many skills and interests, which included building his "famous" BBQ barrels, assisting his sons and friends during destruction derbies. He assisted coaching for Colusa County Cowboy Football and Colusa Little League teams during the years his sons were playing. He was a self-taught mechanic, machinist, welder, and electrician and enjoyed teaching his craft to friends and his two sons. The family joke was he could not saw a board the right length given he was left-handed and continuously cut on the wrong side of the blade. He was banned from family carpentry projects where he might have to a saw a board, however, put a welder in his hand and he could build anything. He enjoyed shopping for random treasures at the Marysville Swap Meet and would bring his purchases home to refurbish or gift to a friend. Jay was quite the trivia expert with actors, actresses and cars and was a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan. He worked 30 plus years as a Mill Wright at California Family Foods in Arbuckle, CA and was greatly appreciated by the company owners and his co-workers. He retired in 2021.

Jay had a generous heart, quick wit and a knack for making everyone laugh. He was known for his practical jokes and teasing, especially his nieces and nephews, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was organized, detail oriented and took great pride in doing things the right way.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jay's memory to Colusa City Fire Department.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life, Saturday, December 13, 2025, 11 A.M at the Arbuckle Golf Course, 5918 Hillgate Road, Arbuckle, CA 95932

I am heart broken, loved this man. Jason could take an idea or a concept and turn it into metal. He was an artist.
