A proud graduate of Colusa High School, Class of 1959, Phyllis was known for her warm heart, lively spirit, and love of life's simple joys. She loved to dance, fish, and cook, and she was especially known for her delicious homemade jelly, which she joyfully shared with her family and friends.
Phyllis was the beloved wife of Birley Free and a devoted mother to Jerry Pollinger, Michelle Pollinger, Victoria Pollinger, Patti Pollinger Smiddy and Bill Young. She also embraced her role as stepmother to Todd Free and Kim Lindquist. Phyllis's love extended through generations, and her legacy continues through her 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammi Simpson, and her parents, Clarence and Lucille Whaley.
Her life was defined by her enduring love for family and her generosity toward others. She will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely.
A viewing will be held on November 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at McNary & Moore Funeral Home, 107 5th Street. Graveside services will follow at Arbuckle Cemetery.
