Youngstown - Jason P. McKelvey, a cherished husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, November 1, 2024. Born on January 10, 1990, in Youngstown, Ohio, to John McKelvey and Sheila Rehburg. Jason's warm presence and generous spirit deeply touched all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A proud 2008 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, Jason embodied the values of hard work and community service throughout his life. He was the owner of Mr. Fix It, a company that specialized in construction-related repairs, where he was well-respected for his skill and dedication. Jason's strong commitment to his faith was apparent to everyone around him. He devoted much time and energy to Trinity Fellowship Church, where, alongside his beloved wife Stephanie, whom he married on June 15, 2019, he served as a Youth Leader. After four years in that role, the couple became outreach directors, leaving a significant mark on the community and were also active at Now Youngstown and the March for Jesus.
Jason's passion extended beyond his church activities. He had an unquenchable love for the outdoors, finding joy in camping and spending time on the lake. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Jason was quick-witted who had larger than life personality and was a stranger to no one. He was one to always look to make you laugh and would help anyone in need.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his wife, Stephanie McKelvey (Gordon), his mother and father, Sheila and Brian Rehburg, and his siblings, Megan (David) Tolley, Melanie McKelvey, Tylor Rehburg, Alex Rehburg, and Hannah (Luke) Jacob. Also mourning his loss are several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Waylon and Willow, who were his constant companions. He was preceded in death by his father, John McKelvey.
Jason's memory will be a beacon of kindness and compassion for all who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of community. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of Jason on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Fellowship Church in Boardman. A funeral service in celebration of his life will be held the following day, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, with friends and family welcome to join for visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave. Youngstown, OH 44512.
