It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jason "Molotov" Mitchell on July 8th, 2024. He was a man of such brilliance and strength that no words can fully capture the depth of his character and the impact he had on those around him. In his complexity, he embodied a kaleidoscope of virtues and passions, a testament to his indomitable spirit.
From his earliest days, Jason displayed an insatiable zeal for learning that led to his induction into the Mensa society. This was a byproduct of his self-education in theology, philosophy, history, literature and art, amongst other subjects. He went on to become an award-winning filmmaker, political commentator and satirist. In addition, he authored two books, wrote and produced music, and played the drums and the piano.
In addition to his intellectual and artistic pursuits, Jason was an international expert on Krav Maga and self-defense. It was in this arena that he earned the name "Molotov," which aptly described his fighting style and persona. He was passionate about teaching individuals how to protect themselves and their loved ones. Regionally, he founded and led two premier studios, Triangle Krav Maga and Queen City Fight Club. Internationally, he taught underground and pro bono to persecuted Christians, women and others in countries such as Cuba, Moldova, and Egypt. He even earned a world record for fastest gun disarm.
Jason was also known for his charismatic personality and infectious enthusiasm. He had a way of lighting up any room with his warmth and humor, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Beneath his formidable exterior lay a deeply sensitive and loving soul. His ability to empathize with others, to understand their joys and sorrows, was profound.
Amongst his many accomplishments and talents, Jason most valued his family and he lived with an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband and an exceptional father. In these roles his hilarious sense of humor, his big heart and creativity could be fully appreciated and loved. He is survived by his devoted wife, Greer, his daughter, Ivy (12), and son, Ford (5 months), his father, Wayne, his step-mother, Sharon, and his seven siblings.
Let us celebrate Jason's life by carrying forward his legacy of love for family and faith in God. His passing has left a void that will never be filled on Earth. However, it is of tremendous comfort that, in spite of our loss, he is in perfect peace in Heaven with the Savior he loved.
A celebration of life will be held with details to be announced in the coming weeks.

He had a huge heart and loved to train people to be able to protect themselves. We shared some great memories on the mats and I will never forget what you taught me. I know how much he loved his kids.

I met Jason before there was a Molotov, when we were just two brand new adults trying to figure life out.

We couldn't have been more diametrically opposed in most ways, but we immediately clicked over one vital aspect: Imagination. We quickly bonded over a shared obsession with absurdist humor, loved to dream up fun ideas for tv shows or music we could make. We actually, eventually, did a little of both.

My favorite part of all of it was seeing his knack for manifesting his will in action. I was content to just be a dreamer, but seeing him lock in and bring ideas to life was... impressive. Some form of deep magick. Like hearing a foreign language; I still can't say I'm fluent in it, but I learned a lot about life and myself, just by dreaming dumb dreams with the guy with the inimitable will.

We last spoke maybe a decade ago -- his path through today's political landscape was one i could not follow.

Yet, while most would have us think we must be sworn enemies these days, all I could ever see was my brother. It's what I'll always see.

Love ya, man.

Jason was my krav maga instructor in my late teenage years. Every day I could I'd make time to go to his classes. They gave me confidence and changed my outlook on the world. Fast forward almost 6 years later I'm a completely different person than I was before. I was not someone I liked before but Jason was able to give me the confidence to persue the life I have now.

Thanks Molotov,
For everything

I first found Molotov Mitchell on world net daily around 2007 doing his for the record videos. His intellectual and honest assessments of all the subjects he spoke about impressed me and to be honest changed my perspective on many things.i was once asked on Facebook what famous person I would most enjoy meeting and my answer.was Molotov Mitchell.A day later he messaged me about not being famous and humbly joking about my grand impressions of him.We messaged back and forth after that and it always surprised me when he would take the time to message me back.I had always hoped to meet him some day.I feel like I´ve lost a friend.I guess I´ll see you when I get home,I anticipate a long conversation. Rest In Peace brother
