Jason Richard Perry, 40, was called home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2026, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born on April 20, 1985, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jason was a true gift from God—an angel sent to dwell among us, to spread life, laughter, and love.

Born with an undiagnosed neurodegenerative disease, Jason’s life was defined not by limitations, but by a divine purity. Though he never walked and had limited vocalization before his disease took hold, he possessed a spirit that was incapable of sin. He lived as one of God’s greatest angels on earth: pure, guileless, and astounding. To be in his presence was to be blessed.

Jason shared a profound and unshakeable bond with his mother, Tina. For 40 years, he was her faithful sidekick, filling her life with immense joy. While she made him laugh, it was Jason’s smile that truly lit up her world. He loved it when she sang to him—and she couldn't sing softly; she had to belt it out from the diaphragm, often leaving her to wonder if he loved the singing or just found the performance funny.

Some of their happiest moments were spent in the car with the volume cranked up, listening to Classic Rock and Country. Jason would laugh and "sing" along to favorites like "Bad To The Bone," "Volcano," "Watermelon Crawl," "I’m From The Country," "Tush," "Sharp Dressed Man," and the music of CCR. He loved the song "Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)," especially the line, "Hey pretty lady, won't you give me a sign." However, he and his mother shared two special anthems above all others: "Funny Face" and "You Are My Sunshine." He also had a playful, mischievous spirit, often "playing possum" or faking yawns just to make his mother start yawning, too.

He passed from this life just as he had lived it—held peacefully in his mother’s arms. We take comfort in knowing that while he was her sidekick for four decades, he is now Jesus's sidekick for eternity.

He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Jason is survived by his devoted mother, Tina Marie Perry; his brothers, Cody Sheufelt and Anthony Perry; his sister-in-law, Randa Edwards-Perry; and his five nieces and nephews: Noah, Chloe, Connor, Jasper, and Parker. Though words were not his way, he knew he was greatly loved by all.

Angel In The Making

(Written by Tina Marie Perry, Circa 1998)

God gave to me a special gift, to love, nurture and care for.

One I will have to return with great sadness to Heavens door.

And since my little gift was born, I have not one regret.

But when my tears flow in the dark of night.

I cry Lord please don't take him yet!

Some look at him with pity, but they just don't understand.

To be born unable to consciously sin is grand.

Those who can walk and talk can't imagine being so helpless.

But where else can anyone be found so pure and guileless?

I am but his caretaker, tho I shall greatly grieve.

For I know not when, but I know he'll have to leave.

See the Lord is busy preparing for one of his purest sons.

His rewards in Heaven will be great.

When his earthly suffering is done.

And Our Lord will gently pick him up, with his hands so steady.

For soon his time will come, his Heavenly wings be ready.

And up to Heaven he will take him.

My Son, My Gift, My Little Angel in the Making!

IN LOVING Memory of my Angel who is now finished here on Earth. My Angel is complete and taking the big sleep. I know I will see him again on Judgement Day.

With the deepest love imaginable for Jason, we will greatly miss you until we are all reunited with you and with the Lord.

May God be with us all.
