There is a pause for peace when the conductor speaks
and says two words, "And rest"
Singers cease from singing
Musicians lay down sticks and horns
Since the music making has come to a conclusion
The audience has departed and there is no more applause
Quietness now reigns and creates it's own harmony
The silence brings reflection and even fond remembrance
As we contemplate the highs and the lows of life's past melodies
We may feel an emptiness as we feel the chords have drifted away
Yet the melody remains in the echoes of sweet memories
Collectively all will inevitably share that great moment when THE GREATEST Conductor of them all
says "AND REST." and the orchestra of our family is reunited once again........
