Jason Roberts Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Jason D. Roberts, "Lime", was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Larry E. Roberts and late Theresa I. Roberts on September 22, 1973.
Jason, known for his infectious smile, was loved by many. To most, he was known as Lime, but if you ask his Big brother Darryl, he was the original, and Jason is 'LiL" Lime. Growing up in Steelton, PA he spent most of his time playing basketball on the Eastside courts and on St. Mary's Drive. Jason enjoyed hanging out with friends and family and especially his cousins at his Grandmother's house in Oberlin, PA, where there were many Sunday dinners, cook outs, holiday parties, and summer sleepovers.
He was a graduate of Steelton-Highspire High School (Steelton, PA) class of 1992, where he helped lead the Boys Varsity Basketball team to a PIAA District III title and the AAAA State Championship. After graduating high school, he continued his basketball career at Saint Francis University (SFU) in Loretto, PA where he was the 34th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark, which now includes 43 players. SFU is also where he obtained a bachelor's degree in English and Public Relations.
Jason was employed at Giant Corporation as a Planogram Analyst. In his spare time Jason loved reminiscing about when his children were small, spending time with his youngest daughter, his pup Bailey, listening to music, cooking, gardening, playing golf, teaching the neighborhood kids how to play basketball, going to the casino, and watching sports. He was an avid fan of Michael Jordan, the Florida Gators, and was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 52, Jason transitioned from this life into eternal life at Gardens of West Shore, Camp Hill, PA, surrounded by his loving family and close friend, joining his parents, paternal and maternal grandparents, and sister, Jauan Roberts. He leaves behind his wife, Amanda Roberts of Mechanicsburg, PA, and a beautiful legacy of love, his children, Jordan, Brycen, Cierra, and Sophia; his six siblings, Cleveland "Petey" Roberts, Mark Hawthorne (Stacy), Darryl Roberts (Lisa), Tracey Hines, Gina Tyson-Devoe (Yolanda), and Jenna Roberts. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a close circle of friends who were, in every sense, family.
Jason will be deeply missed and be forever remembered in the hearts of all that knew him. Lovingly submitted by the Family.
