Jason L. Scott, age 45, of Pocahontas, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at his home near Pocahontas, Iowa.

Jason Lee Scott was born on January 16, 1980, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended Pocahontas Catholic School for grades 1-6. He then graduated from the Pocahontas High School in 1998. Jason went on to Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon for 2 years following high school.

A proud third generation farmer, Jason spent his life working the land he loved, farming by his father Gordon's side from an early age. His dedication to agriculture and the farming community was a defining part of who he was.

Jason had a deep passion for the outdoors and loved spending time hunting and gathering with friends in his shop or someone else's. He enjoyed collecting firearms from all different time periods and took pride in his vast collection. Above all, Jason's "greatest joy in his life was his son, Tucker Lee Scott". The bond they shared was extraordinary and evident to all who knew them.

Jason is survived by his beloved son, Tucker Lee Scott; his mother, Kathy Scott, and his brothers, Christopher (friend, Tricia), Jamie (Audrey) and their children, Rylan, Harrison, Bodhi and Vivian, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jason is also survived by Tucker's loving mother, Alicia Bembenek, and Grandpa and Grandma Jim and Patty Bembenek. Also, special friend Afton Holt, and many other close friends who loved him dearly. He will be deeply missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon Scott, and grandparents, Gordon and Helen Prokes and Lloyd and Lucille Scott.
