Jason Adams Smith, 58 years old, died peacefully on Sunday, December 14th after a 3½ month struggle with cancer. He was born on June 9th, 1967 and resided most of his life in Denver, except for two short periods when he lived and worked in San Francisco. Focus Hauling and Transport was owned and run by Jason for over ten years. Loving music of all kinds, he was an incredible drummer, played with the band Jux County from 1989 to 1991, was on their Spendin’ the Day album, and he played over the years with several smaller projects. Leisure included long walks with Miles his labrador, good food and conversation, and viewing football. He is survived by family members Thomas Smith, father; Susan Smith, step-mother; James Strater-Smith, brother; Claire Treyz, sister in law; and Camille Treyz Smith, niece. His mother Eileen Marie Healy Smith predeceased him. Jason is recalled by family and friends as being kind, warm hearted, and having strong opinions but a good sense of humor about politics. A memorial service is planned in January, 2026.
