Jason Dean Martin, known to most as Spanky, age 44, of Colcord, OK passed away in Tulsa, OK on Tuesday, September 16th. He was born in Siloam Springs, AR on January 23, 1981, to Joe and the late Dianne Shelley Martin. Jason was a Colcord High School graduate and a graduate of the NTC Diesel Mechanics class of 2000. On October 19, 2010, he married the love of his life, Misty Bilby Martin in Miami, OK.
Jason was passionate about serving his community and dedicated countless hours to those in need of a helping hand. In 2013, he joined the Kansas Fire Department and rose to the rank of Fire Chief in 2019. He also joined the West Siloam Springs Fire department in 2015 where he served as Fire Captain. Jason had several hobbies that kept him occupied. He was passionate about spending time outdoors and could often be found doing chores around the farm and tending to livestock. Each year he looked forward to helping the local 4H and FFA members prepare their livestock for the county show. Other hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends around a fire. But his greatest passion of all was spending time with his grandchildren.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne Shelley Martin; his brother, Brian Martin; his maternal grandparents, Max and Millie Shelley; and paternal grandparents, Bo and Marcine Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Misty Martin; two sons, Dakota Janes and wife Paige of Klein TX; Dason Martin of Colcord OK; his two daughters, Mckenna Andrews and husband Tyler of Rose OK, and Mahayla Martin of Colcord, OK; five grandchildren, Garrett, Jett, Eleanor, Cory, and Davis; father, Joe Martin of Colcord, OK ; brother, Todd Martin and wife Stacey, and two nephews, Wyatt and Colton Martin
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 11:00AM at the Kansas Dome in Kansas, OK.
