Jason Sullivan Obituary
Jason John Sullivan, known as JJ, passed away earlier last week. Only 18, JJ faced life with daring, grit, stubbornness, a mischievous nature, and a warm heart. In the last 18 months of his life, he developed a strong faith and relationship with our Lord and Savior. For that, his family will always be grateful.
Born in Colombia, JJ joined his forever family April 11, 2018. JJ loved soccer, Colombian food, video games, cracking jokes, his friends, and family, and charting his own course. He was a master socially, quick to make friends, and had an intuition for working with his hands. JJ also was an amazing natural athlete. His ambition was to join the Army to serve our country.
For the last few years of his life, JJ was in recovery from chemical dependency. He fought long and hard to maintain sobriety. We are forever grateful to all the people in our recovery community, who supported our son and supported our family through that journey.
JJ is preceded in death by his sister Piper Ann Sullivan (2011), and his paternal grandparents Hannah Ann Sullivan (2012) and James Edwin Sullivan (2017).
He is survived by his parents Stephanie and Edwin Sullivan; siblings James and Kate Sullivan; maternal grandparents Art & Betty Howe; aunts and uncles Gretchen Howe, Matt & Missy Howe, Nancy Hunter, Tommy and Barbara Romano, John Sullivan and cousins Averi Howe, Rylee Scarborough, Brooklynn Howe, and Brittany Brown.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from half past five o'clock in the afternoon until half past eight o'clock in the evening on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home, 1734 West Alabama Street in Houston where the Rosary for JJ will start at seven o'clock. The memorial mass will be at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Church, 215 E. 10th Street, in Houston. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Avenue in Houston.
