Jason Wayne Swan, age 47, unexpectedly passed away with family by his side on Sunday, April 16, 2023, in Cass Lake, MN. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 14, 1975, the son of Vicki Swan and Clifford Howard, Jr. Jason's nickname was "Little Sister," and his brother was referred to as "Big Sister".
Jason was a hard worker who loved to keep busy. He stayed busy all of the time until his health started to fail him, then he still did what he could. He was quick to laugh and tease. Jason loved cookouts, he was known for being the grill master, making sure the meat was done to perfection. He continued to supervise that position of grill master after he could no longer do it himself. He was a handy man who could fix anything, and was good at anything he put his mind to. Jason was always helping family out. He truly was a family man. In his youth he was a Golden Gloves boxer, winning numerous trophies, he played baseball and enjoyed getting into mischief. He was a self-taught guitarist. Jason's favorite music to listen to was heavy metal.
Jason met the love of his life, Coree, and they created a life together since March 4th, 1994. They were officially married in Cass Lake on January 2nd, 2015, but often forgot which anniversary they were celebrating because they always knew 1994 as their start time.
Jason is survived by his wife, Coree; sons, Corey (Mariah) Drouillard, Ervin (Autumn) Swan; daughters, Jaylynn, Leighanne, and his mini me, Jasmine Swan; 5 grandchildren, Landon, Talon, Luella, Sora, and Jordan; mom, Vicki Swan; brothers, Jeremy (Darci) Swan, Sr., Dale Fairbanks; sisters, Judi Swan, Lynn Morgan, Elise, Willow, and Amelia Howard, and Kate Whitebird; aunts, Bev Swan, Vikki Howard, Patricia Strom; uncle, Mike Swan; special cat, Milo; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family Jason is reunited with are father, Clifford Howard, Jr.; grandparents, Maynard Swan, Cleo Armstrong, Shirley Scuby, and Clifford Howard, Sr.; uncle, Wayne Howard; and nephew, Brandon Morgan, Jr.
An overnight wake for Jason will begin Friday, April 21, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. and continue until his Saturday, April 22, 2023 1:00 p.m. service, all to be held at the White Earth Family Office in Cass Lake, MN. Jason's pallbearers are Felix Briseno, Richard Laroque, Loyd Fowler, Dale Fairbanks, Mario Reyes, and Robert "Robbie" Budreau, Jr. Jason's honorary pallbearers are all his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Inurnment will follow services and Jason's final resting place will be at home with family.
