Jason went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2023 and is survived by his wife, Sherie Swint; his son, Jonathan Swint; his daughter, Faith Swint; his father, Lindsey Swint (Kathy); his uncles, Louis Richardson, Sr. (Velma), Henry Roland (Mary); his aunts, Michele McDaniel (Michael), Deborah Babcock (William), Loretta Anderson, Theresa Broach; his brother, Ryan Swint (Tamekia); his sister, Brittany Swint; his step-brothers, Aaron Rumphs and Marcus Sanders; his step-sisters, Leslie Johnson (Kevin) and Ashley Moore (Roderick); his brothers-in-law, Darrio Anderson, Phillip Anderson, David Marshall, Melvin Marshall; his sisters-in-law, Christine Winters, Charlotte Lawson (Consel), Shannon Nelson and Marie Anderson; his godfather, Rick Badger, and Faruq Iman, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Karlyn Swint; his mother-in-law, Philestine Anderson; and his grandparents, Emory and Caroline Swint.
Jason Swint was a proud Philadelphian born to Lindsey and Karlyn Swint on January 5, 1975. As an enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan, he always radiated joy. If he had his way, he'd be rocking an Eagles jersey with a big smile today!
In 1983, at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Richardson, TX, Jason accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and embraced a life with Him. His life journey led him to pursue a Liberal Arts degree with a minor in Criminal Justice from Oral Roberts University, graduating in 1998.
Jason loved assembling with other believers and flourished in two local churches as a member. For ten years, he attended Wheaton Christian Center, where he was passionately involved in the youth group and took a mission trip to Zimbabwe.
Jason's life took a delightful turn when he met his wife, Sherie Anderson, from Detroit, Michigan. In a humorous twist, he "retired" her from a second job, paving the way for her to focus on her graduate studies, and this also marked the beginning of their courtship.
Jason and Sherie married in 2004 and settled at Zion Covenant Church International, where he attended for 23 years and served on the praise and worship team and the Men of Intent ministry.
Jason was a hardworking man of God who thrived in a 20-year career in the customer service and insurance industry, ending with Progressive Insurance, where it all began. His excellent problem-solving skills and listening ear made him the go-to person for many seeking guidance.
Known for his easygoing, sociable, calm, reliable, and peaceful nature, Jason's outgoing personality drew people in. His cell phone was a constant companion as he joyfully counseled, laughed, and prayed for family and friends.
Jason, a devoted father, and husband, shared his love for music, singing, and travel and spent countless hours studying the Word of God with his kids, Jonathan, and Faith. He transformed tales of his unruly past into lighthearted jokes, taking pride in a life surrendered to Jesus.
Spending quality time on the phone with Jonathan and having heart-to-heart conversations with Faith, Jason was a proud and diligent Godly father, guiding them in the ways of God with love and gentle correction. Jason's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who know him. With a joyful demeanor, he left an indelible mark as a Godly father, a cherished friend, and an inspiration to all.
