Javier Matos

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected loss of Javier Matos, age 35, on January 18, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1990, and was born and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Javier was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his parents, Carmen Migdalia Matos and Leonardo Matos; his grandfather, Eugenio Negron; his siblings, Eugene Matos, Leonardo Matos, Melisa Cruz, Leilani Matos, and Steven Matos; his cherished nieces and nephews, who brought him great joy; and his dog, Koda, who held a special place in his heart.

Javier was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmen Gloria Negron, Ramona Matos, and Amalio Matos.

Javier will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the meaningful place he held in their lives. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though his life was cut far too short, his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA. His interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
