Jay Brantley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greene Funeral Home - Downtown Chapel on Sep. 19, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Jay Richard Brantley announce his sudden passing on August 23, 2025 at the age of 46.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday August 30, 2025 at Rose Hill Cemetery York SC with Rev. Cliff Cochran officiating.

On October 23, 1978 Richard was welcomed into this world by his beloved parents the late Randy Lawson Brantley and late Gail Shillinglaw Brantley whom longed for his arrival. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Ruby Shillinglaw and Sam and Ola Brantley.

Richard is survived by his children, Tyler Brantley(Hailey) and Alexis Brantley(Josh); his grandchildren, Grayson, Brayden, Lucas, Eli, Lizzie and Lawson; his sister, Angel Brantley-Comer (Dean); his brother, John Brantley(Lynsie); and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

During Richard's childhood his love of playing baseball and watching Clemson Football began. His proudest moments were the birth of his children and later finding out about his grandchildren's arrival. The memories he shared recently with family & close friends whether it be out to eat, Big Air Trampoline Park, Top Golf, or morning/evening conversations over the last year were his happiest.

The Brantley Family would like to thank special friends along Richards recent journey: Linette, Kevin, Terre, Connor and Richard W.
